We realized with a sudden panic that we'd
completely missed creating an online holiday card for 2002. After several seconds of furrowed brow
and deep thought, we decided to forget it and pretend we had been busy. Then, the thought that we
were about to fail in creating a 2003 holiday card stampeded through our fevered brains, and
we sat and engaged in another bout of worry. Here we are, then, with another installment of lovingly-
assembled wit and humor, intended to distract you from the fact that we're too cheap to spring for
real cards.
Before we continue with the simpering and the
well-wishing and the showing of the dreaded photos of the grandkids, we thought we'd distract
further by an outdated but perfectly legal Scrabble word for your perusal.
pudendagra: (poo-den´duh-gruh) noun. 1. Pain in the genitals.
So what hath 2003 brought us? Some good things,
some bad things, and some things which made us cock our heads quizzically to one side as if someone
had just whispered "otter pops in the hedges again, Bill" in our ears. Mostly we all seem as a group
to be in a fairly decent but absurdly busy holding pattern, but with naively high hopes for a
future without war or Republicans. Wal-Mart will take a little longer to drive into extinction.
As for us, we're happy. Fujasu is a curmudgeon,
Naginata has a solid case of ADHD, Bianca is employed in a respectable position, and Dave is
employed in a less-respectable but there's-good-places-to-eat-nearby position. Silver Lake is home
to us, our vehicles still, as of this publishing date, run, and we have the satisfying hobby of
finding strange music, putting it together into collections, and ruthlessly forcing friends to listen
to it. We have a lot of things to be cheery about this holiday season.
Our wishes to all of our dear friends this year are
the same as they've always been: happiness, health, wealth, positive vibes, action figures,
functional computers, self-realization, opportunities, Taco Bell, peace, good sleep, moving music,
sushi, high bowling scores, nights out with friends, and beauty.
Happy holidays to all,
and to all a good round of single malt whisky,
