Contrary to appearances within DeadLounge.com, not all sites are goth or lounge in nature. Following are a few places to go; some are my own creations, some are worthy destinations by friends of mine, and some are simply cool. If there's a link I've forgotten, or that you'd like to see here,

RenderHosting.net - Before we begin, I want to show you this. It's here because this is where DeadLounge.com is hosted. Go here. Sign up. Host your site. Use all sorts of nifty things to beef up your web presence. RenderHosting is Home.

Dining in L.A. - http://www.dininginla.com/
I'm always one to appreciate good food, from the lowliest taco truck to the most pretentious Hollywood hangout, and I've always wanted to write a restaurant review site. Please come by and let me know your secret places to go!

Jellobungreasia - http://www.jellobung.com/
Jellobungreasia (Music and Retardation since 1992!) is the rude and crude killer site by my dreadlocked pal Bruce Reeves, whose gentle bass and guitar stylings appear in the grind metal bands Phobia and Mange. Inside are metal reviews, photos, and a comprehensive list of just what exactly pisses Bruce off.

Site design by B. Reeves.

Better Living Through Circuitry - http://www.deadlounge.com/dae/portfolio/web_bltc/index.html
The official Website of the documentary about rave culture. It's a dynamic extension of the film, with information about the filmmakers, screenings, the artists from the film (Crystal Method, DJ Keoki, Carl Cox, Wolfgang Flur, Roni Size, Meat Beat Manifesto, and a whole slew of others), and different loops from the soundtrack throughout the site. It's far more fun and interesting than this description.

ANODE - http://www.anode.org/
The abode of one Timothy Clark, a close and devastatingly intelligent compatriot of mine, who aided the birthing of the Goth-O-Matic Poetry Generator, and the words behind the collaborative Flash creation crossvector. Herein is contained art, peripheral visions, hallicinations, carcinogens, and Tim's personal site, embodied in such works as Suburban Element, Terminal Illness, Affliction, and Elsewhere.

Amok Books - http://www.amokbooks.com/
The source of extreme information, Amok Books embraces dark and secretive subjects other publishing companies avoid like the croup. A worthy acquisition would be the Amok Fifth Dispatch: Sourcebook of the Extremes of Information, edited by the store's owner, Stuart Swezey (who also edited the Wild Palms Reader and produced Better Living Through Circuitry).

Plastica - The Store - http://www.plasticashop.com/
The place to get the cutest artsy hip swag you can find for your home, and the 3rd Street store is the only place on the West Coast you can get Mumbleboy merchandise.

Address:
8405 West 3rd Street
Los Angeles, CA
Tel: 323-655-1051

Ratzinhozen - Von's Resume Rest Stop - http://www.ratzinhozen.com/
Is Von's R.R.S. a wondrous oasis on the cybernetic highway, or just a way for a hungry artist to get a job? Find out by visiting my friend Vaughn's Flashed-out motel stop, where you can get complimentary heated GIFs, color JPGs and AVI conditioning. There's always vacancy within Vaughn. Er, wait a second...

just an ordinary goddess... - http://ordinarygoddess.net/
Billed as "just a reedy little 'blog in the thick forests of 'blogging", the goddess here is but an ordinary goddess, but smarter and more sensible than those bitch-goddesses hanging about and eating grapes and bathing in the waterfalls. Carol's style is eminently readable, her demeanor is humble yet wry, and her way of calling people by init-capped nicknames (such as CuteNerdBoy or RockerChick) is catchy; it is my fervent hope that once we manage to get together for a hip L.A. lunch she will come up with some sort of nickname for me.

JuanMan.com - http://www.juanman.com/
A good man with a wry sense of humour and a great appreciation for the world's great beers, Juan now has his own corner of the web. Still in progress, the site offers some of the finer links on the Web (heh, heh) and vital information on how to avoid shark attacks. Be sure to visit his online store as well for your own JuanMan merchandise!

The Wiretap Project - http://www.deadlounge.com/dae/portfolio/web_wiretap/index.html
An internal project I helped create, and my first work in Flash. Wiretap is built around a faux conspiracy theory, that a man named E.W. Collins plans to take over the information world via manipulation of the electromagnetic spectrum. The site details the intelligence-gathering efforts of a savvy group of young people trying to expose and stop Collins' technologically fearsome advance, archiving "photo evidence" and intercepting "radio transmissions." A fun project, but also proof of how convincingly realistic Photoshop and media manipulation can be.

SailorJerry.com - http://www.sailorjerry.com/
It's about time one of the most famous names in skin ink receive some recognition. Sailor Jerry produces a line of tattooed clothing and accessories (and, believe it or not, a great rum) inspired by the traditional tattoo flash of "The Original" Sailor Jerry Collins.

Death Becomes You - http://bluelips.com/
Death Becomes You is "one stop shopping for the morbid mind." Cool clothes, dead accessories, books, music, and all sorts of ghastly paraphernalia await your perusal. It makes an effort to educate the public about death and dying (it even hosts a class for budding funeral directors), and donates over 25% of its profits to cancer research, so it's a worthy place, my dark & deadly friends.

Mick Mercer / 21st Century Goth - http://www.mickmercer.com/
The fourth book on Goth written by Mr. Mercer, this is a huge collection of all the online wickedness you might wish to learn about. It concentrates on everything on the Internet that is goth-related, and I mention it here because 1) it's a cool idea, and 2) apparently DeadLounge.com made it between its covers. You can order it online from Amazon.com [ here].

William Meikle's Fiction Pages
Two boys in the West of Scotland awaken an ancient vampire. The only way to stop it is in the power of a book, a bible detailing the dark religion of the Vampires. But time is running out, and the sun is getting low. Are you afraid of the dark?

You should be.

Dark Humour Fiction, Haiku and Poetry by Saskia Latendresse / Waterdelph - http://waterdelph.8k.com/
A site of strange humour and meditative sardonic poetry by the self-proclaimed sepia goth, Saskia Latendresse, known otherwise as Waterdelph. A little haiku, a little vampiric prose, and some work in French for the "unhealthily curious."

Poetry, Writing, and that thing called Life - http://www.geocities.com/chryssyann/chryssyann1.html
As Chrys herself says, "The day after tomorrow is the third day of the rest of your life. What more could you want to do then read a plethora of poems and learn more about me, the author?" With which I heartily agree. Some of her work is dark, some of it is not, all of it is impressive.

The End of the Book - http://www.geocities.com/theendofthebook/
This is the online home of one Joy Ann Harbor, who, like me, wants to decorate her home with a different theme in each room, and who, like me, is a writer at her heart and loves historical fiction. Unlike me, she's been published, but then again I've never submitted anything for publishing. Soon, Soon. Anyway, you can read some of her works here, and get inspired to continue with your faltering habits in writing.

Woman of the Rose - http://www.deadlounge.com/rose/index.html
A page of poetry eerie and erotic, penned by a mysterious friend known only as Rose. More works to come.

Site design by Polarbeast.

Legalize Benzedrine - http://www.anzwers.org/free/sfbenzedrine/index.html
Read the 'nasty cyberpunk industrial complete bastard fiction' of the site's Overmeister, Andrew S. Wade, Esq. He's got a taste for the modern, the subterreanean, the deranged psychological machinery of this world. He also has a wickedly long list of rather cool links for the more darkly-minded.

Czibor's Cranium - http://www.geocities.com/andros_dejanczibor/
Welcome to Andros' world, but beware. He writes well, profusely and with a strong-yet-calm opinion, which of course will infuriate some of those who still think one extreme or the other should define us as a culture. Some of his words I agree with, some I do not, some I would engage in discourse to clarify... as the exchange of thought should be. Plus he's gotten some hatemail, which I wish I could get.

The Hell Dimension - http://www.helldimension.com/
As you descend here into the depths of things you aren't certain what to label, you might ask yourself questions regarding the nature of evil, and hell. What is here is mostly words, and they are words that most people don't want to read, but there are thought processes here that should be considered. You can read works by several people here, none of whom I know by true name, or enter their forums and place your own dark and unseemly works.
